Topic : 2010 K.B.F.N. State Team Members Volunteer for Youth

Five members of the 2010 Kansas BASS Federation Nation State Team were actively involved in the successful operation of a Casting Kids Event the weekend of February 20 & 21, 2010, at the Sport, Boat and Travel Show at the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita, Kansas.
Dennis Forbes, Johnny Starks, Larry Fralick, David Branine and Travis Tunnel collectively worked 8 Casting Kids sessions to make this event a success. In addition, Travis Tunnel was involved in the organization and the setup of the event. There may have been other K.B.F.N. members involved in this event and as their names are made known to me I will recognize them as well.
This is just one example of our Kansas BASS Federation Nation State Team members acting as ambassadors for our organization and giving back to the communities through their continued involvement and dedication to our Youth Programs.
Thank you guys for a job well done.

Topic : Big Bass Challenge *Wilson Lake* Hays Bass Anglers 8/21

Hays Bass Anglers is hosting our 10th Annual Big Bass Challenge on August 21 at Wilson Lake.  Due to water levels/bass fisheries, we have moved it to Wilson from Cedar Bluff.

Tournament will be the same format -- hourly prizes for biggest fish per hour and overall placings for biggest fish of the tournament.  BBQ meal provided.

We will be getting our registration forms up on our website www.haysbassanglers.com in the near future; hopefully by early/mid March.  Please mark your calendars!  More information to come.  Thanks!

The change was requested  by the majority of the members. With respect to the economic trends that we are dealing with, the expenses incurred by participants were discouraging participation.
For example: The two day format would require the participants to travel on Friday to participate on Saturday and Sunday. If pre-fishing was an option, then travel would be on Thursday, pre-fishing on Friday and the event on Saturday and Sunday. Thus requiring two vacation days for most members per tournament. Most everyone has other things going on and as a priority, family events. With six Team Series Tournaments at the rate of two vacation days per event depletes 12 vacation days, which excedes the average members annual vacation leave.
The new format allows for travel on Saturday and particpation in the event on Sunday.
I appreciate your inquiry in this matter.
