On May 16, 2009, the K.B.F.N. Board of Directors held a meeting in Russell, Kansas. A number of issues were discussed to include some changes to the 2010 Tournament Season Schedule. The dates and locations for the 2010 K.B.F.N. Mr. Bass and K.B.F.N. State Qualifier were also selected.

2nd: The K.B.F.N. State Qualifier will remain a three (3) day event. However, it will change from a Thursday, Friday, Saturday event to a Friday, Saturday, Sunday event.

3rd: 2010 K.B.F.N Mr. Bass Tournament -

The change was requested  by the majority of the members. With respect to the economic trends that we are dealing with, the expenses incurred by participants were discouraging participation.
For example: The two day format would require the participants to travel on Friday to participate on Saturday and Sunday. If pre-fishing was an option, then travel would be on Thursday, pre-fishing on Friday and the event on Saturday and Sunday. Thus requiring two vacation days for most members per tournament. Most everyone has other things going on and as a priority, family events. With six Team Series Tournaments at the rate of two vacation days per event depletes 12 vacation days, which excedes the average members annual vacation leave.
The new format allows for travel on Saturday and particpation in the event on Sunday.
I appreciate your inquiry in this matter.
